From today’s Evening Standard:
The school’s decision may be inexcusable, but what I find particularly appalling is the toothless response from the deputy chief executive of the National Association of Gifted Children.
“It’s down to the discretion of the headteacher. If he refuses it would then be down to the parent to put a case to say how it would benefit the pupil and the school, such as by giving it positive publicity,” she says.
This is just the sort of instance where I would hope and expect that such an organisation would come out all guns blazing on behalf of such a child. How about we write a more appropriate response to email to her?
